Rates as of October 2026. These are introductory rates for our first clients and will go up as we grow.
How organizers usually charge
- By the hour. You pay for the time on the job, often with a minimum number of hours.
- Flat project price. One price for a defined job, such as a single garage.
- Half-day or full-day rates. A set price for a block of time.
We haven't listed other companies' rates here. Few local organizers publish prices, so the best comparison is two or three real quotes for your actual space.
What changes the total
- How much is there. A small garage and a packed two-car garage are very different jobs.
- How quickly decisions get made. Sorting speeds up when you are there to say Save, Share, Sell, or Sweep.
- One organizer or two. Two cover more ground, which can shorten the clock time.
- Access. Attics, stairs, and storage units add time.
- Add-ons. Donation trips, selling items for you, and hauler scheduling are priced separately.
- Supplies. Boxes, tape, paper, totes, and labels are extra for packing jobs.
How Space Sorters charges
| Item | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 1 organizer | $55/hr | Booked in 2-, 4-, or 6-hour blocks. Sorting into the four piles, organizing what stays, and packing and labeling for moves. |
| 2 organizers | $95/hr | Booked in 2-, 4-, or 6-hour blocks. Same work, finished in fewer hours. |
| Fuel fee | $25 | 2-hour blocks only. Waived on 4- and 6-hour blocks. |
| Share | First load included, then $50 | Your first filled minivan load is included on 4- and 6-hour garage jobs. Extra loads, and any trip on a 2-hour or packing job, are $50. We deliver to the charity you choose and return the receipt. |
| Sell | 30% of sale price | For items worth $50 or more: photos, listing, buyer messages, and handoff. |
| Sweep | $35 flat | We book and meet a licensed hauler. The hauler bills you directly. |
| Supplies | Our cost + 15% | Itemized on your invoice. |
Worked examples
These show the math. They are not quotes. Your real estimate comes from your photos.
| Scenario | Math | Labor total |
|---|---|---|
| 2-hour block, 1 organizer | 2 hrs × $55 + $25 fuel fee | $135 |
| 2-hour block, 2 organizers | 2 hrs × $95 + $25 fuel fee | $215 |
| 4-hour block, 2 organizers | 4 hrs × $95 | $380 |
| 6-hour block, 1 organizer | 6 hrs × $55 | $330 |
| 6-hour block, 2 organizers | 6 hrs × $95 | $570 |
| 8-hour job, 1 organizer | 6-hour block + 2 extra hours (2 × $55) | $440 |
The block is the minimum charge, even if we finish early. Time past the block is billed at the same hourly rate, by the full hour. Add-ons are separate. On 4- and 6-hour garage jobs your first filled minivan load is included and each extra load adds $50, and hauler scheduling adds $35. If we sell an item for $200, our fee is $60, which is 30%.
Two organizers cost $40 more per hour than one, but they can finish in fewer hours, so the total can end up close to a one-organizer job.
How payment works
- Deposit: 25% to book every job. It comes off your final bill. On the 8-hour example above, that is $110.
- Balance: due the day we finish, by Venmo, Zelle, or card.
- Cancellations: free with 24 hours' notice. Otherwise we keep the deposit.
- Photo quotes: send pictures of your space and get an estimate without a site visit.

- Is there a minimum block of time?
- Is it hourly or a flat price?
